If you are unable to connect to the Internet or have a long list, such as a comprehensive restaurant menu, then you may prefer to prepare it offline using a word processor or text editor - rather than using the List Maker. Preparing text for import is easy and simply requires the insertion of special markup tags.

For best results, read right through this page paying attention to the examples in section 3 below.

1. What to do

1. Use your preferred text editor or word processor
2. Create the file applying the markup as shown in sections 2 and 3 below.
3. Save the file onto your computer hard drive or other storage device (ideally, give it a name that will remind you what it is, for example, 'menu_winter_2007'
4. Until O'WONDER add an automatic import button to the List Maker, your list file should be sent to us for importing as follows:
   1. Email your list(s) to 'content@owonder.com' ensuring your include the following in the Subject line: Text file(s) for gonumber g, where g is your gonumber iD

2. Markup tag format

• At the top of your list, insert the title between square brackets, prefixing it with 't:', for example:
  [t: SUNDAY MENU]
• Before each section Heading, insert a # (hash sign) for example:
  #Starters
• Insert an * (asterisk) before the Item name, for example:
  *Soup of the day
• Insert the price and any quantity and reference ID for that item within square brackets after the item name, putting 'p:' before the price, 'q:' before the quantity and 'r:' before any reference ID/SKU you may include. For example:
  *Soup of the day [p:3.45] or
  *Gadget 2000 [p:19.95][q:23][r:G2KB1]
• If an item has more than one price option (for example, Small, Medium and Large) then seperate each price with a /. For example:
  *Italian style pizza [p:6.95 Sml/7.96 Med/8.95 Lrg (16")]
• Any item description should then be shown below the item name as can be seen in the summary below and in the examples in Section 3.
